• OUR HISTORY

Our urbanmine leadership has four generations of experience working in metal recycling business. Take a trip into the past and hear how metal recycling used to be done and how we’ve redefined it today.

Honest

Honesty underpins everything we do. Like goodwill, trust is earned over time and that’s why most of our clients are long-term valued relationships. We work hard to gain your trust. We work harder to keep it.

Transparent

We reinforce honesty with transparency by having our yard weigh scales visible. You can even watch as we weigh your scrap.

Modern

We built a modern, clean, safe facility so you feel comfortable in our space and our employees enjoy coming to work.

Friendly

We attract friendly and experienced staff who have decades of experience in the industry and welcome you with a smile.

Profitable

We negotiate fair rates for you because we want everyone to profit from metal recycling.

Innovative

We are always looking for new ways to work. We’ve adopted industry-specific computer software that tracks your scrap through the process and offers you greater transparency.

Reliable

We remove your scrap when we say we will and we pay you on time. We visit your workplace and answer your questions on the phone or email as often as you need us to. We’re here for you, for the long term.

Responsible

We support environmental and social change by helping people from all walks of life become “urbanminers”. Together we are cleaning up our environment and turning anything metal into something new again – like our program with Habitat for Humanity to turn old cars into new homes. We follow the best environmental, safety and operating practices set out by the Recycling Industry Operating Standard (RIOS). We are members of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) and the Canadian Association of Recycling Industries (CARI).
